What earns a commission

GamingMics is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Every Amazon link on this site carries the tracking id practicalpicksguide-20. If you buy after following one, Amazon pays us a percentage of the sale. The price you pay is the same either way.

Product photographs are supplied by Amazon and are themselves links to the listing, so they are paid links too. Each one is captioned "Photo: Amazon" together with the exact edition the listing was matched on.

Links to a manufacturer's own product page, manual or support article are not paid. They are there because they are the source for a specification on this site.

What a commission does not change

The mic path checker, the Discord check, the console compatibility table and every product page read documented connections, controls and manufacturer specifications. Commission rates, retailer relationships and product popularity have no role in any result, and no model is excluded for lacking a listing we can earn from.

22 of the 23 models covered here have a matched Amazon listing. The rest carry no Amazon link at all, are still in every tool, and can still be the answer for your setup.

The checker still tells you when a microphone will not work with your platform, and still refuses to answer when the manufacturer has not documented the connection. That is the whole point of it.

We print no price of our own. The budget tool works from quotes you enter yourself, in your own currency, because a price written into a page would be wrong the week after.
