Mic arms: will it hold your mic and reach you?

Four numbers decide an arm: the weight it holds (your mic plus its shock mount), how far it reaches, how thick a desk its clamp fits, and the thread. Pick your mic to see which arms are rated for it.

Arm figures read from each maker's page on October 9, 2026

Threads in one minute

Most mics and arms use one of three screw threads: 5/8 inch (the usual mic-stand thread in the US), 3/8 inch (common in Europe and on many arms) and 1/4 inch (the camera thread some small USB mics use). A cheap adapter turns one into another, and most arms include one. Check both ends before you buy.
