Which mics work with Switch 2 GameChat?
You don't need one to start: the Switch 2 has a mic built in, with noise reduction, and GameChat opens with the C button. For less background noise, a wired headset in the console's 3.5 mm jack is the usual upgrade. Bluetooth headphones can play the sound, but their mic is not supported for GameChat.
Ways to get your voice into Switch 2 chat
Built-in mic
Works with nothing plugged in, in handheld mode and docked. It picks up the room, so keep the console near you when docked.
Wired headset
A headset with a mic in the 3.5 mm jack on the console keeps your voice clear and the game out of the chat.
Headsets documented for Switch 2
Check the table: some wireless headsets list Switch 2 support for their dongle.
- Bluetooth headphones: sound yes, mic no.
- GameChat takes up to 12 people in voice chat; up to 4 can share their screen.
- Video chat needs a USB-C camera that works with Switch 2.
- GameChat needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
Every model on Switch 2
Supported means the maker states this console for that connection. Not confirmed means the maker says nothing either way. Select a model for its full setup.
